Pros
Really smart people, opportunity for growth, people will help you. You have never seen collaboration at this level. Management cares. You can be creative. Innovation is encouraged. Culture is strong. Not many politics. You’ll work hard but it’s mostly appreciated. Customers still love the product. I just watched some of their conference (which is a huge company wide thing) and customers seem as happy as ever. Much better place to work than other software companies in the area. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to find this kind of thing at another company.
Cons
Getting big with too much talk about scale at the expense of being able to do interesting things. Lots of demand for working fast and hard. Stressful. Training is okay but you’ve got to want to learn. Some people don’t get it and make life harder than it needs to be. (FYI to them, Amazon is hiring.)
