Poor pay, no advancement opportunities - Technician Switchcraft Employee Review

Switchcraft is a fast growing start up. The team are competent and experienced in their specialities - which include a range of banking, finance, software, SEO, energy and customer service. It's a good mix and a strong team - with the benefit that everyone works hard toward their-end and listens to the advice of others. Other larger companies I have worked for have had more of an issue with buck-passing and offloading work etc - this is not the case at Switchcraft. Competencies are quickly recognised and there is plenty of headroom to grow into a particular role.

Start-ups are different to big companies - things happen fast. Agility and quick-thinking is important where resources are not to hand - as they might be in a bigger company. That is less a con - as it is a warning to future applicants!

Development is fast-paced and its done using modern tech and there is no legacy code or maintenance so it's a good place to be for a developer. There are lots of opportunities to learn and improve in a small and friendly team but also to contribute with ideas. The processes are improved constantly.

It may be a downside for some that it is a small team and there are no dedicated testers or dev ops at the moment.
