Pros
Outstanding benefits, flexible work schedule, good environment, Starbucks actually believes in putting the customer first- it's not just a motto, upper management is fairly hands off,
Cons
Store Managers are required to spend roughly 90-95% of their time on the floor doing the same job as the baristas. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it seriously limits your ability to run the logistics side of a store. Inventory management, scheduling, training, etc. It means that any and all managerial tasks have to be done after a 7 or 8 hour shift. The pay is just not in line for this to be a 60+ hour a week job, but that's what it has a tendency to be. I was originally attracted to this job because of the work lif balance, but that is rapidly slipping away.
