Pros

It’s better than being unemployed

Cons

Low pay, merit increases don’t keep up with inflation so you take a pay cut year after year. HR just rolled back unlimited PTO for everyone who is clinical and shift based so if you have been here less than two years you only get a max of 96 hours of PTO next year that has to be accrued. Most of us work 10-12 hour shifts so that’s not even two weeks of vacation for the people who are the backbone of the company. Meanwhile corporate is keeping their unlimited PTO. Sick days now also have to be accrued, so a healthcare company doesn’t even support the health of its employees who are most at risk of getting sick.

Pros

I worked with the company for 2.5+ years and overall had a great experience filled with growth opportunities.

Cons

It’s a start up (and while I was there pre series B) so it’s not for everyone but it is much more structured and offers more resources than others I’ve worked for

Pros

The workload is a joke compared to any ED that you will ever work in. The crew is small and intimate (which is a pro but leads to a con well.)

Cons

No background checks done to weed out the criminals that are pending lawsuits for insurance fraud. The drama is EXTREMELY for being such a small, intimate facility. It soured the experience which would have been great otherwise. One or two of the providers have the WORST bedside manner I’ve ever experienced. They are also condescending and rude for no reason at all.. they don’t even know how to preform real actual emergency medicine and get flustered when there is more than 1 patient in the building. It’s a joke
