Pros

- Smiths have robust, secure, scaleable and production grade softwares that were built couple of decades ago. A lot of knowledge can be acquired from these products only if hired in the right team - Customer facing products, might get an opprtunity for some minor feature development or bug fixes

Cons

- SGP and IND extended team is set up almost 3 years back and yet to put basic processes and team structure in place - Techies are forced to work on parallel development work without proper guidance and training which calls for never ending re-work cycle, hampers quality of delivery and takes a huge toll on work life balance. - Unrealistic delivery expectations and poor resource assignment and allocation. Eg. UI devs are often expected to work on hard core backend work with a week’s notice. - Lack of resources both human and hardware in the team to deliver the ongoing assignments - No co-ordination and collaboration between different center of excellences. - Extremely slow career growth prospects and huge discrepancy between Designation, Role, Grade and actual job role.
