Pros

Slalom does not really do a lot of staff-aug work. Every project I have been on has been a very high value, cutting edge project with a very cool client. I am never bored at work and generally enjoy the staffing. Slalom is also no travel.

Cons

The benefits are not that great at all. The healthcare packages are expensive for what they are. There is little paid time off, for instance, after 24 mo., you get 144 hours, but before that you only get two weeks. It should also be mentioned that PTO and sick days are combined in the same hours set. The 401(k) is also weak in match with a bunch of requirements attached to it. There is also a big imbalance between the technology services and the business consulting groups when it comes to work-life balance. The IT projects are usually over 40 hour weeks and recruiting can never seem to hire people fast enough to match growth.

This is John Tobin - I appreciate your positive feedback and will make sure I share it with the rest of the leadership team. Your specific feedback regarding the 401k program and vacation time has been noted. The HR group has actually been going market to market recently to gain a better understanding about our benefits, so I am hoping to make some progress in this area. If there’s anything else you’d like to share with me, I’m all ears. Feel free to send me an email or contact our HR group at ContactHR@slalom.com.

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
