Pros
Good benefits, great benefits if you are at Corporate HQ in Cary, NC. Nice place if you are in a lower to mid-level position, especially if you have little kids.
Cons
Minimal upward mobility due to gridlock at the top. Most of the key executives have been with SAS their entire careers, so they don't know the outside world very well, and cross-pollination of ideas from those coming in are quickly squashed, typically for political reasons. Company knows Analytics well, but falls way short of where they should be at understanding how to effectively run a business, both inside the company as well as with its clients. It's the Peter Principle in full effect. Additionally, they have a tendency to confuse their clients (whom they refer to and treat like customers) with too many disjointed points of contact, and broken down processes between functional silos. Disconnect between Sales goals and Professional Services goals are pronounced, and drive the wrong behaviors for everyone involved, typically resulting in something being oversold and under-delivered, then the finger pointing starts.
