Pros
Wonderful work life balance and job security. If you understand and adhere to the culture, you can easily work at SAS for the rest of your career.
Cons
SAS is about R&D and Sales (i.e. making software --> selling software) Hyper focused on selling software instead of solutions. Services organization is not what you would expect from a top tier analytics company, it is an IT body shop run by project managers who don't understand (or value) analytics or business consulting. As expected with a company that has great work life balance and low turnover, there is a mix of bright hardworking employees, and employees that are very complacent. Also has many employees (at all levels) that have never worked outside of SAS and don't understand or appreciate some of the best practices in the industry (or in business in general).
