Rabobank's recent push to cut costs is proving to be short-sighted, especially in how it affects talent retention. In an effort to streamline operations and reduce overhead, management has implemented policies and structural changes that may look good on paper but have led to the departure of many skilled and experienced employees. Morale has taken a hit, and remaining staff often feel undervalued and overextended. The focus on saving money in the short term is undermining the long-term strength and expertise of the organization. A stronger investment in people—not just numbers—is needed if Rabobank wants to remain competitive and innovative.
