Pros

During my time at the company, the team was highly professional and there was an unlimited PTO and vacation policy in place. Health Insurance was really good.

Cons

It has been a challenging experience working with a CEO who has limited real-world experience leading a videogame company. There have been many instances of missed/late payments to contractors. Daily meetings for show and tell that would last hours were a regular occurrence, and there have been instances of the CEO yelling at leads. There have also been instances of employees coming to work late and under the influence of alcohol, as well as the CEO and his friends playing games during work hours and expecting employees to work extra hours without additional compensation. All of this before new directors came in and changed the company's culture. The company has been working on a project for the past six years, and when it finally had the opportunity to complete it with a team of industry veterans, the CEO unexpectedly dismissed everyone, citing a desire to return to a "dream garage studio" atmosphere, bringing back what the new directors tried to remove. During all this time there have also been instances of nepotism, with the CEO consistently promoting friends and family members to leadership roles and empowering individuals with little experience. Overall, this has created a culture of lies, toxic behavior, crunch, and payment delays. I would not recommend you to start your career here.

Pros

Great flexibility, tons of learning opportunities, no office politics (and if so, that eventually gets shut down). Management has no problems letting people go if they don't contribute and just cause problems with their behavior. No favoritism, anyone can be heard here without worry of subtle or outright backlash. I've had a lot of different jobs, and bosses, and upper management and it is usually just a snake pit one way or another. This is the first place in very very long time where I don't have to worry about that stuff anymore.

Cons

Can get hectic and feel unorganized at times, but Nik does listen, and is willing to try things out to make things better for everyone. It is a work in progress and has been getting better over time.

Pros

Excellent PTO policy, great coworkers, well delegated, immense passion from the whole team.

Cons

Morale can be easily swayed by public opinion, lack of community management leaves developers to engage personally.
