Pros
The only pro of this company is that they analytical instruments are well out dated and lack of maintain, so you can quickly force yourself to become a technician.
Cons
There are many cons unique with this company compared with other small company. (1) Very long hours (many scientist still work well late in the night) and do not expect over time pay at all (I need to mention that their salaries are significant lower than others). No compensation for 24 hour-round rush project, indeed, we get a single one watermelon as an appreciation for 10+ scientist for over night shift. (2) You can expect end year bonus at the mercy of the boss. (3) As the other one said you are force to sign a three year none move contract or you lose your job after no matter how long your have been heartily serve this company. (4) The boss is walking around the lab and monitoring your daily work. (5) The lab chemistry supplies you requested may get denied. (6) The glasswares are limited, you will need to wash it. (7) The turn over rate of this company is crazy, the average time of scientist work for this company is no more than two years. Too much farewell lunch every other week. (8) No benefits or the worst benefits. No 401K, very high deductible health insurance, 10 days PTO a year, 4 sick day. (9) Very bad travel budget. (10) Very bad tools organization, you will spend a whole day looking for the glassware you needed. (11) You may be blamed for not able to fix their grandpa aged instrument.
