Pros
-Decent commissions and residuals (still below market in comparison to competitors) -Work/Life balance depending on your own goals, but expect to work 40-60 hours a week pulling doors if you want to make anything close to what they estimate on the job post
Cons
- First and foremost, the worst interviewing experience I have ever been exposed to. Management are all so completely out of touch thinking they can treat candidates so poorly. And after reading review responses from the owner to employees and customers alike, I am beyond relieved I turned down the position to work for SpotOn. - 1099, some may prefer this sort of role. Personally I see positions like this as beyond antiquated. Expect no form of benefits, salary, ramp up, or any support or assistance of any kind. On your own. W2 roles similar to this will still allow you all the advantages of working on your own schedule and “being your own boss”, but with further support and benefits as well. - Out classed by all major and most minor competitors. SpotOn, Square, Toast, Clover. All provide better rates, POS, hardware and software that integrate creating a far superior product platform overall. - tying into the previous point. Far below market pay structure in comparison to other options. Combined with the bare bones low-quality product line up. I find it hard to believe anyone could make a livable wage off this role without using completely manipulative and unethical sales tactics, and still you would need to work non stop to find customers to gullible enough to fall for your garbage. To all of those deceived by the job postings. There really isn’t much reason to consider this position, when opportunities at other Merchant services companies, or most sales roles in general, exist. Research any of the big names in the industry and they will set you up much better with a base pay or ramp up, as well as support and structure to get you going. If you need any more convincing, just look at the Owner responses on the reviews. No company worth anything should be demeaning any of their customer or employees.
