Pros

-It's a steady job. If you aren't already a stylist, they can offer training. -My coworkers are nice, but this can vary location to location

Cons

-Heavy focus on selling monthly subscription memberships -The written lists of expectations are extremely high, and there is not enough time in a day to actually achieve what they want you to achieve in terms of productivity -Breakroom is inconvenient to access, with only 1 key in store for employees to use, and you are not allowed food or drinks in the work area. -The higher management individuals have no experience in your field of work -If you are bitten by a dog, you are reprimanded and docked pay for the entirety of the service you performed -Refuses to update my managers on what their time frame expectations are for the cat grooming program, which was promised to me upon hiring that I could attend in January (Its now May with no word back). -Extremely slow during summers

Pros

DM is a good person who genuinely wants to support the stores, but unfortunately he’s also caught in the middle of all this chaos.

Cons

Literally EVERYTHING! • Extremely limited payroll stores are frequently staffed with only two employees for an entire day, which is not sustainable. • Leadership appears disconnected from store level operations, with little clear direction. Initiatives often feel reactive, as if decisions are being tested without a consistent long term strategy. • Expansion into non pet related products raises concerns about the company’s financial health and overall focus. • Workload is overwhelming, with planogram changes happening frequently sometimes multiple times within the same week. • IT systems are unreliable, and when issues arise, store teams are expected to find workarounds rather than receiving timely support. • Animal care no longer seems to be a top priority at the corporate level. Current setups (e.g., “Desk Pets”) appear inconsistent with the company’s own care standards and guidelines.
