Pros

As compared to other educational publishers, Pearson is a great place to work. It's a huge corporate environment, but so are all the others. People tend to get a job here and stay here for their entire careers, thus jobs don't open up very often unless they're newly-created.

Cons

There's definitely a good-ol' boy network and some of the choice upper level jobs are given to insiders without having been posted. And there are some of these good-ol' boys who get and keep these executive-level jobs, regardless of their competency. Opportunity for advancement, once you reach an upper management level, is scarce.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
