Pros

Beautiful company campus. Bright, cheerful building. Our department (Reading Department) had flex hours, which I loved. There really was an attitude of wanting to do a good job that would affect elementary students positively. The Reading Department created school textbooks and other reading-instruction materials. I'm sure they continue to produce this type of product.

Cons

1) As in any job, it just depends on who you end up working with, who your immediate supervisors are, and how upper management approaches their staff. When I was appreciated for my good work I loved my job. But I was heartbroken from the aftermath of a new department policy that shook up our entire department and caused many veteran employees to either quit or become offended and enraged. I was personally affected by this new policy, which came from upper management in 2000. It appeared that the new policy was supported by our department leadership. 2) The Reading Department often required a lot of overtime. I don't know if it's still like that.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
