Pros

The people at this company were absolutely outstanding, everybody was passionate about their job and it used to feel like a huge family. PTO and flexibility is great, they have fully embraced a remote workplace and encourage taking time off. There is a lot of potential for growth here if you put in the effort.

Cons

Over time the passion and camaraderie has diminished. Year after year bad financial numbers were announced and raises/bonuses were unknown, through no fault of the Connections Education business unit of Pearson. Many senior people have left and the company landscape is changing. In addition to raises/bonuses going down every year the cost of insurance has risen dramatically. There is no consistency in pay between people in the same position, I personally witnessed two people with the same title, duties and general performance having one person make half of the other. No matter your performance it is impossible to make up this gap as even large promotions will only carry approximately a 10% raise.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
