Pros

Good initial training and a paid two week trip to NY. Most offices seem to be clean and sanitary.

Cons

Promised promotions and raises based off passing courses and "levels" with no time to study and your fired if you take the material home with you. Management treats you like chattel and you should kiss their butt constantly to thank them for letting you work there. Supervisors are not qualified to lead. 60+ hours of work to do in 40 hours and then get yelled at for not completing it all. Corporate office that cares less about their customers then they do about their employees and they care very little about their employees. Software systems that create mass errors for your assigned clients and then you are blamed for the problems. Raise based of your ability to juggle an overload of clients that are over promised on the abilities of the product. Annual raise maximum in the office was 3% this year. Sales staff that over promises and lies to clients and then you are the bad guy when you tell them the truth. I could go on for pages but will stop with the return to the initial quote above. You are treated like you are dirt.

Pros

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Cons

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Pros

Nothing is good about working here.

Cons

Nobody is ever held accountable. Pay is awful. Benefits were all moved out of state, so all providers in the area are all out of network. Jobs are being moved to India. The list goes on. Sales is the absolute favorite department in the entire company. Nothing sales can do is ever wrong, even when they give false information to clients and then the support team has to deal with the fallback. Don't get me started on Payroll.... the entire department has gone to the wind. I honestly don't know how this company ever did good with payroll services. The #1 complaint i got from every single client I interacted with was they could never get ahold of their Payroll Specialist. The company's response to this was to start making other departments learn payroll duties. This year they moved insurance benefits to a plan out of Arkansas, which made every provider I was already seeing become out of network. I had my first major medical scare of my adulthood and ended up paying a few grand out of pocket because U of R was out of network. Promotions are non existent. They make you apply and interview for any role you want to move into. There is nothing good about working here, and i would advise anyone to stay away from them.
