Pros
It is a great stable job with a culture that is shifting to focus more on inclusivity, diversity, employee development and growth. Generally people work set hours, breaks, and leave without having to work overtime. Environmental, health, safety, ethics, harassment and other issues that affect employee environment and/or pose liability for the company are taken very seriously.
Cons
The conservative company is risk averse and it can lead to slow innovation. There is a tendancy to hang on to individuals that are not good in their environment. They are behind other companies in terms of benefits, especially on leave and work from home policies. Individual managers can vary a great deal in terms of expectations, work environment, work from home expectations and overtime.
