Pros
Good discount, flexible hours, good business location (we get a lot of sales) and also it is not located in a mall which can be a really annoying place to be. Customers are generally pleasant but there is always a rotten apple that walks in during strange times (like a snow storm) or our monster sales. (i swear it never fails)
Cons
Push the old navy card entirely too hard- Yes they want to save on fees they need to pay major creditors for the right to allow customers to use major cards (amex, visa, master card, etc.), but the customer can get frustrated with associates that do not know when to give it up. Not only that, but employees that do get the cards and get the cards often seem to be lousy at other aspects of their job (folding clothes, putting things away, etc) and some managers (thank god their not all like this) will give the rest of us who get one every now and then but perform the other functions of our job well, a hard time. Customers are can be rotten and sometimes the leader on duty will go as far as "rewarding" the customer in a "he said she said" conflict where it’s the customer's word against yours. Make sure the management knows you well enough not screw you over in the pursuit of saving face. The customer may blow stuff out of proportion in a passive aggressive manner on the CES survey, and lower management is unfairly held responsible for a review performed by somebody who may have been a royal pain AND a high maintenance type that expects the world on top of it by district and regional management who do nothing but say that's wrong, this isn't perfect enough, and sometimes won't even say hello when they visit. Lousy attitude trickles down fast.
