Pros
I really liked working for Nordstrom. No long hours on the sales floor. You only had to work 129 hours a month to keep your benefits. Management was really good about giving you the days off that you requested. Good benefits. Treated the employees nice.
Cons
If you did not average the 129 hours a month, you would lose your insurance for that month and then pick it back up again the following month which really is not right. You were also ranked on the schedule. Whoever had the highest amount of sales in your department would be given the best schedule. In other words, they would be there during peak selling. hours.. How is an associate supposed to move up on the schedule if they keep getting the not so good hours for selling???????? They should rotate everyone so everyone has a fair and equal chance for selling. That way all your employees would succeed. I was let go from the company and was told I would be the first one called back when things picked up. That was February of 09. I still have not heard back from them. I guess I won't be called back. But I would like to work there again.
