Pros
Flexible hours, generally and somewhat casual atmosphere. Political issues can be intense in some areas but mostly easy in that realm. However, if you start out on the wrong foot, they keep you there.
Cons
Don't expect to be able to take time off when it's nice outside or when you would actually want to do something. It just won't happen. The work load is not too different from that in NYC but the pay is far less. If you come in at a low wage, you will stay there. If you get paid too much, they will find a way to get rid of you if your performance doesn't match your salary. And decisivness of any kind is entirely lacking here.... there is never any final decision. If you come to an agreement before hiring on, you better get it in writing.
