Cons
For a company that claims it’s HQ’d in San Francisco, lots of functions are firmly rooted in London with no plans to change. If you need to rely on cross-functional collaboration to get your job done, get ready to get really skilled at constantly pinging people to do their job. There’s seemingly no accountability or SLAs on day-to-day processes. Several people claiming to be “working from home” but aren’t reachable for 4-6 hours of the day. Office is creepily quiet- there's been occasions when you can actually hear a pen drop. It takes tension, firmness and oftentimes escalating behavior including shouting just to get simple business processes done. Luckily there’s several coffee shops and bars near the SF office should you need to take a break from the stress. Product launches are delayed to ever-moving launch dates which make customers upset and opt to look for solutions elsewhere. The SF office is beyond capacity for desk space and meeting rooms with the date to move getting pushed further out. Managers attempt to demand long, startup-type hours but there’s no upside of earning equity as they’ve been acquired by Vonage.
