Pros

Working in a tech sales environment with like minded people may the long days less miserable. I worked at the store since opening and it was fun to see all your hard work pay off as we filled the store from nothing to every techie's dream store. I liked being able to build a relationship with not only my coworkers but customers as well. And seeing those same customers return to you years later was awesome. Always being on the front of new tech and opportunities to go to corporate headquarters for Epson, Apple, Dell, etc. Those were the aspects of the job that I loved and kept me there for over 4 years.

Cons

General manager only cares about his team making him look good so he can collect his bonus. The constant pressure to perform and maintain high numbers in the Systems and Apple departments led to long hours, high stress, and little recognition. We were constantly short staffed and because it's commission, you were *expected* to want to work extra hours. Even on holidays like Black Friday and before Christmas, you were called "not a team player" if you didn't want to work 60 hours a week. Balance of work and home life was non existent. Making 4 dollars an hour to come in at 7am and unload a truck for 3 hours is ridiculous. Sexual Harassment and Gender bias was ignored. Each time something was brought up you were told "Your too sensitive" and get over it.

The organization provides exposure across multiple business functions, allowing leaders to build well rounded operational and commercial skill sets. High performance environment that rewards ownership, initiative, and results.

Cons

As a smaller, specialized retailer, organizational growth and upward mobility may take longer compared to larger big-box companies. Resources and infrastructure are still evolving in certain areas, which can require leaders to be more hands-on. High expectations and pace can create pressure during peak periods, requiring strong prioritization and resilience. Some systems and processes have a learning curve, particularly for leaders coming from larger, more standardized organizations.
