Pros

Employee discount is nice on most products. Co-workers are pretty cool in general.

Cons

The floors are terrible, can wear and tear on your feet and shoes depending on what department you're in. (Anywhere but the systems department). The commission is pretty weak compared to other commission jobs, you literally have to bend over backwards to get a decent paycheck. Hours are crappy. You may do 9 hour shifts (10 hours including unpaid lunch which is utterly insane). Have to show up to the store 3 hours before the store opens to put away merchandise that you get paid $6 an hour for which is to me the major deal breaker working there. Micro Center is way too cheap to properly pay employees. There's more cons but these are the major ones in working here.

Thanks for your feedback on the floors and the scheduling at your location. Additionally, we understand there are many aspects of the sales position that include both customer-facing time and tasks that occur before/after the store is open to the public. We strive for all associates to fully understand the pay structure and also how to maximize their earnings each day. If you have any additional feedback that you’d like to share with our corporate HR department, I can be reached at (614)850-3150. Thanks, Carly – HR Manager

Pros

Customer obsessed culture with a strong emphasis on expertise and service. Leadership is highly engaged, with consistent focus on coaching, accountability, and development through structured one-on-ones and daily execution rhythms. Clear expectations across sales, service, and operations create alignment on what success looks like. The organization provides exposure across multiple business functions, allowing leaders to build well rounded operational and commercial skill sets. High performance environment that rewards ownership, initiative, and results.

Cons

As a smaller, specialized retailer, organizational growth and upward mobility may take longer compared to larger big-box companies. Resources and infrastructure are still evolving in certain areas, which can require leaders to be more hands-on. High expectations and pace can create pressure during peak periods, requiring strong prioritization and resilience. Some systems and processes have a learning curve, particularly for leaders coming from larger, more standardized organizations.
