Pros
Posting this in case it’s helpful to anyone evaluating working at Mention Me. High performers should be cautious. Mention Me is an environment where risk is pushed downwards, duty of care is extremely weak in practice, and high performers are expected to absorb an ever-increasing workload with little support or protection. I have worked in the company for several years and there were many moments it was genuinely a great place to work. That is no longer the case. There are still talented and diligent employees in the business, but current leadership have rendered the culture rotten. Many remaining employees are exhausted and miserable. A very large proportion of colleagues have been managed out or made redundant. That doesn’t include those who resigned.
Cons
As for my own experience, everyone around me was made redundant and attempts were made to automate large parts of my role and the roles of those around me who left the business. The result was instead a huge increase in workload, pressure and responsibility, culminating in a serious stress-related health incident requiring emergency care. Despite these material changes and the impact it had on me, no sustainable adjustments, redundancy option, or supported exit were offered, leaving resignation as the only realistic way to protect my wellbeing. Candidates should think carefully about whether this is an opportunity that would reflect genuine growth, or short-term output at the expense of people.
