Lowe's Home Improvement

Engaged employer

Inflated salary that could be used to lower store's budgets and throw Lowe's employees a cookout or two. - Sales Specialist Lowe's Home Improvement Employee Review

Pros

Lowes has good benefits and depending on the department you work in, you do have the ability to make commission on sales. The people you work with on the sales floor are great people who treat you like family. If you aren't worried about being undercompensated for a few years, there is room to grow with lowes as you move up through the management ranks.

Cons

Management has poor leadership ability, and communication is terrible. Scheduling is done by 3 different people who don't talk... or do they...or maybe only two of them...oh well follow the schedule so and so writes today but get reprimanded for following that person's schedule the following week. Another downside of working at lowes is undercompensation. Managers work 50+ hours a week for peanuts hoping they make their bonus at the end of the year to pull off a half decent salary.

Pros

If you want to be lazy it's perfect 👌

Cons

This is the worst company I have EVER worked for, the worst I've ever been treated by an employer. So bad it caused me to be suicidal. The managers are incompetent. They are not leaders, they do not care about your wellbeing, just what they can get out of you. If you don't get credit cards you get yelled at. I'm seen so many employees just walk out because of that reason alone. I begged for full time, never gave it to me, but still give it to new hires. Which caused my kids and I to have no health insurance. Constantly changing my schedule. Which causes you to never be able to make any plans, or have a life. Denied my leave of absence for surgery as I'm literally laying in bed waiting to get surgery. Which was still dinged as a call out. Eventually leading me to a final, to finally get fired from the hell hole that is Lowes. I was smiling getting fired, walked out the door and felt so much relief. Lowes blows.
