Unable to get past some growing pains and a disconnect in overall messaging. JD touts being a people first company but like any agency, they are CLIENT first, PEOPLE if there happens to be time left (which there never is). Salaries are really far below the standard bar for New York and conversations to the effect of "I can't even live my daily life due to lack of funds" fall on deaf ears. Severe discrepancies in what people of the same level get paid. Preference given to those who are "loudest" vs. most deserving. Large lack of mentorship and guidance across the org with a sink or swim mentality. No guidance at all for mangers and mangers themselves are very inexperienced. No self awareness for how managers should behave and the examples they should set. Founder is very unsettling to interact with as actions are contrary to what you might have been told in a meeting prior or in a one on one.
The good thing is that if you want to learn really quickly, you can come here and burn and turn. Learn as fast as you can, then move on to a reputable company who won't blow smoke and overpromise and underdeliver.
