Pros
Had the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries. Also, had the chance to keep in touch with what was happening economically in various different countries.
Cons
Due to all of the acquisitions, it doesn't really have a company culture, just some sort of contrived culture that is not authentic. IHS does not invest in its employees at all well. You mainly only receive training if it can be done cheaply or if it can be regurgitated from some other part of the business. Sometimes, "no brainer" training suggestions (in terms of improving productivity) would be refused due to management's obsession with keeping costs down. Analysts expected to work very long hours, but with very little reward which goes to others. Overall, it is a highly process-driven company where processes drive people and not the other way around (i.e. people driving processes).
