Pros

The amount of autonomy you are offered right out of the gate gives you a feeling of true mutual respect. There is an underlying message of "you are here for a reason and we are so excited to see what you can do!" It's a fast-paced and fun environment where there's always a new project to tackle and a strong team to support you in the process. The commitment to true transparency encourages HubSpotters to ask questions and hear real answers. HubSpot also understands that not everyone works in the same way and really solves for the employee by offering both tangible and more abstract opportunities to build a work environment that's best for you (e.g. nomad desks, unlimited vacations, common areas for co-working).The flexibility and true investment in its people makes HubSpot a great place to build a career and has so far been a great place to find my professional voice.

Cons

With the company growing quickly it can be really easy to be be complacent and not get to know too many of your colleagues. Continuing to encourage these interactions will be invaluable!

So sorry for the delay, I thought I responded to this one, but apparently missed it--thank you for the thoughtful review, and I like your point about understanding that not everyone works the same way, our facilities and IT teams do a great job facilitating that across the company around the world, and I think it's a significantly underrated benefit of working here. On the diversity front, I would agree with your feedback--we are investing heavily here as I hope you have seen/felt with some of the initiatives in play, and will continue to invest there as we grow and scale. Thanks for your help and for choosing HubSpot, we are very grateful you did. -Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
