Pros

Diverse Responsibilities: Administrative officers often have a variety of tasks, so the workday can be dynamic and engaging. Central Role in Organization: You play a key role in ensuring operations run smoothly, making you an integral part of the team. Development of Organizational Skills: The role helps you sharpen your organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, which are transferable to other career paths. Job Stability: Administrative roles are typically stable and found across many industries, offering good job security. Opportunities for Growth: There are often opportunities to grow into higher administrative roles or branch into other areas like project management or HR.

Cons

Repetitive Tasks: Some aspects of the job can become monotonous, such as paperwork, filing, or scheduling. High Workload: Admin officers often juggle multiple tasks at once, which can lead to stress, especially when deadlines are tight. Limited Recognition: Despite being central to the organization, administrative roles sometimes don’t get the recognition they deserve. Demanding Stakeholders: You might deal with demanding supervisors, colleagues, or clients, which can add pressure. Limited Creativity: Administrative work often follows set procedures, which can limit creativity and innovation in day-to-day tasks.

Pros

HookLogic is becoming a real heavy-hitter in the digital ad space. The company has grown quite a bit since I started there a year ago and shows no signs of slowing down, which can only mean more career opportunities and growth down the road. The office environment is fun, casual and -- as has been my experience -- as long as you get your work done, nobody micromanages.

Cons

The Ann Arbor office can be a bit cliquey. This isn't a deal breaker for me, as I tend to keep my work life and my social life separate, but if you aren't in one of the inner circles, don't expect to get invited to happy hours unless either a) it's a company sponsored event, or b) you find someone who knows and ask them what the plan is. I can see why some of the negative reviews described the office as a "good old boys club," but I would NOT go as far as to say it's like working for a fraternity and getting paid to be hazed, as one of the negative reviews pointed out. At least not on my team.
