When the going gets rough, they throw employees overboard - Information Technology Hilton Employee Review

Pros

Decent benefits, good diversity, talk a good game about their culture and values... and about the value of their "team members".

Cons

The company has consistently failed to plan ahead for the next downturn / next crisis (ie: the pandemic). So, when the economy hit a pandemic-sized iceberg, their first reaction was to jettison a large amount of staff who had stuck with the company through pay freezes, pay reductions, furloughs, repeated reorganisations , etc. Staff gave Hilton their loyalty but, despite Hilton's rhetoric, that loyalty was a one-way street.

Pros

Great staff and lowermanagement. Last general manager was unfriendly and not very helpful.

Cons

I was supposed to get long tenure status for lifetime friends of family with my veteran status. Worked at Hilton 9+ years. Supposed to get 1 year for my veteran status (according to the handbook at that time) which would make 10 years. HR supposedly turned in application in August 2024. I even followed up and was told they were working it. It's been almost 2 years and haven't heard anything yet. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Guess I won't be staying at Hilton Hotels.
