Pros

Most of my coworkers are great people and enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Working at this company has been a challenging experience due to several ongoing issues that management has yet to address. 1. Upper Management and Ownership: The primary focus of upper management and the owners appears to be cutting costs rather than investing in their employees or improving operations. Decisions are often made with profit as the only consideration, with little to no regard for the well-being or morale of the staff. 2. Compensation and Workload: Employees are expected to take on heavy workloads for minimum pay. There’s little effort to balance responsibilities fairly or compensate staff adequately for the amount of work required. This leads to burnout and high turnover rates. 3. Lack of Appreciation and Respect: There’s virtually no recognition for hard work or dedication. Employees’ efforts often go unnoticed, and communication from management tends to be dismissive or disrespectful. This lack of appreciation creates a toxic environment where people feel undervalued and replaceable. 4. Declining Morale: Morale has steadily declined due to poor management practices, lack of support, and the overall negative atmosphere. Many employees have expressed frustration and exhaustion, and few feel motivated to continue long-term. 5. Hygiene and Workplace Standards: Basic standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness are often ignored, which makes the work environment uncomfortable and unprofessional. This lack of care further reflects the company’s disregard for employee well-being. 6. Mental Strain: It has become mentally draining to come into work each day. The combination of low morale, lack of appreciation, and poor management practices makes the environment emotionally exhausting and unsustainable for many employees. Final Thoughts: This workplace has potential, but it desperately needs a leadership overhaul and a renewed focus on employee respect, fair pay, and a clean, healthy environment. Until then, it’s difficult to recommend this company to anyone seeking a positive or sustainable work experience.

Pros

Different services and softwares provided by Hilton are convenient to have access to.

Cons

The new PMS system, PEP, is awful. They got rid of F&B Distribution for night audit which means a lot less work for night auditors and way more work for accountants. PEP also doesn’t have the same functionalities as OnQ, the previous PMS. I have not heard any good thing about PEP after all these years. The team member travel discounts aren’t good anymore. They used to be flat rates across three tiers of hotels, but now they are extremely variable and can run very high. On top of that, hotels and resorts still charge team members for parking and service fees, so you still can’t afford to travel on the discount. That is, if you even find the team member rate available. Chances are, you’ll be working for a franchisee, not Hilton itself. They may be one of the world’s best companies to work for, but you probably won’t actually be working for them. California taxes and district fees felt mishandled by corporate.
