Pros

Sales and Management experience Decent bonuses (if you can sell) at Management Trainee and Management Associate levels Car & Cellphone at management level. Co-Workers

Cons

Car cleaners and drivers have all been let go (Boston area) so managers are expected to clean/ wash cars and pick up and drop off customers... No family person can do this job.. you are expected to be at branch an hour before open 7am, and stay until about an hour after close 7pm... plus work most Saturdays Pay is very low...$12.50 hours an hour for entry level... with a college degree needed At local edition branches, some days you will be expect to clean 30+ cars inside and out with 1 or 2 people working! Branches are always extremely understaffed to the point its a miracle everyday the branch runs. Awful customer service at times because you cant possibly keep up with all the tasks management gives you, (Example- Two Hertz employees are working at a branch for the day..At 9 o'clock, four customers need a ride to the office at the same time. Hertz website promises the ride service will be guaranteed and timely....customers get extremely upset and yell in your face but its impossible to pick up 4 people at the same time with 2 employees...) This kind of example can be used for many Hertz situations. The turn over is extremely high, Hertz treats its employees and customers both poorly because Hertz and Enterprise have a duel monopoly of the industry and they both know they can get away with whatever they please. Only apply to Hertz as a last resort.

Pros

It is possible to make a difference if you are determined enough. Many engineers work hard and most try.

Cons

The company has a ton of tech debt that it recognized, but is not being addressed. Management controls the time, scope and so quality is falling. The people they have hired lack fundamentals understanding of software development practices. The company often will make decisions to save small amounts of money with their facilities and tools they give to employees without understanding the opportunity cost that was lost. Overtime is required. You can't work here if you want to have a family or keep your family from hating you. Title inflation is real. Many people are actually performing one level down from their stated title and those that are not are only not failing due to putting in crazy hours. Middle management wont stickup for their people to ensure they are not burning out. They see it happening multiple times in front of them and they do nothing.
