Pros

The individuals you meet day-to-day are friendly and amicable. The different teams throughout the facility are all competent in their duties, and it’s great to interact with them. The HR department used to throw some nice parties, and they did some fun activities with the employees. There’s opportunities to earn some extra scrap, join committees, etc. It used to be more “Wild West” at this facility, but the last couple years they’ve been able to rein it in. It’s nice to see a transition from middle and lower level employees, as they’re eager to make things more efficient for their peers.

Cons

Upper. Management. Less so concerned about the immediate teams and their management, as this company does often promote from within so these managers lack the professional experience elsewhere… but we all have to start somewhere! Upper management plays favorites, and will only promote if you’re party to their club. Given the aging demographic of upper management, they’re incredibly slow to change, don’t follow their own directives, and will blockade any attempts at reimagining what success or progress looks like. They will often use buzzwords like “LEAN” or any amalgamation of business jargon to secure themselves in their ivory towers; when in reality, nothing is actually achieved by their efforts. And so, no one will be promoted, and the raises simultaneously are abysmal if you’re not PIP’d for some ludicrous reason.
