Pros
I've been with the company less than 6 months, and I have found the work and culture to be exactly as it was described to me in the interview process. People are very collaborative in sharing their time and expertise, making it very easy to be a new member of the team. The management team is transparent about the performance of the company and the future strategy. The CEO personally conducts quarterly updates and answers employee questions - especially the hard ones. Investments are being made in infrastructure to help scale the company. There is a sense of pride in the product, our reputation in the industry, and success of our customers throughout the company.
Cons
The main challenge I have encountered is a general lack of understanding about how the company runs beyond my own function. I don't see a lot of cross-functional collaboration which at 1200 employees is a strain, but at 2000+ employees will become a bottleneck to getting things done. I'd like to know what each of the function's goals are for FY15. As a manager of a small team, I also don't have access to information about: how we budget, how internal business decisions get made, how we hire, how we compensate, how we promote, and what career paths are available to my team outside our own function.
