Pros

I genuinely enjoyed my experience working here, and I loved the people I worked with. The work itself is easy to understand with practice and training, and there's clear room for growth within the company. Inclusive and great environment to work for, especially as a transgender person.

Cons

My training was NOT well handled. No employee is allowed to do anything before being "signed off" without a trainer present to monitor them. Half the time I was working without a trainer present within the first two weeks (she was either off talking to someone on the donor floor, talking to HR, or "taking a smoke break.") Even though she wasn't present I was still expected to break the SOP and screen, because if I didn't they would have gotten backed up and their times fallen behind. Meanwhile the fully signed off able to fully work employees would hide by doing busy work. Which led to me, the new employee, being the only one screening with 10+ folders waiting, more than once. 10 hour shifts would naturally make it hard to find balance between work and home. There's also a 99% chance that you won't leave on time (generally 30 minutes to 1 hour after you were scheduled to get off.) However, this extra time isn't actually that bad and tends to go quickly. Management and fellow staff are usually good about thanking you and showing appreciation when you have to stay over.

Pros

Good for phlebotomy experience Meet interesting people Learn to keep plates spinning Good health benefits, but not enough to outweigh the health impacts Learn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment

Cons

Have to unlearn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment High school drama and toxicity, management is the prom king/queen Cliquey dramatic management team Reneged agreements Playing favorites, rules for thee but not for me Private employee info gets spread, often by those who are relied upon to keep it private No work life balance or boundaries, and it's an admitted and perpetually unaddressed fault Have to be made to feel guilty for wanting to leave production, get a break, or go to the bathroom High turnover "Is everyone else working as hard as I am?",-Everyone, and eventually you
