Pros

The pay is decent. You won't need to work over 40 hours typically. Company 'cares' about its employees by having events here and there once a month.

Cons

This is from my experience of the tech team. First, the onboarding process will not help you at all. People will try to show you things and basic stuff is easy to grasp, but when people try to show you how to use complex aspects of the hardware and software its either you're trying to pull teeth to get answers on how to use it or no one will teach you. Also documentation is everywhere or outdated so good luck trying to find the information you need. Onboarding was one of the most anxiety inducing experiences i've ever had. After getting onboarded, there's only certain people in the group that will help you and those people are always swamped so if you want help you need to struggle to find answers most of the time. When you join the company you'll see how archaic the technology is and their attempts to modernize is honestly sad. We had a major project that we were trying to accomplish, but leadership added several other projects, and we had to invest energy and resources into these other projects. Eventually we had to pause the major project we were working on. So it was pretty much as if a year of work disappeared. Even though they're a major player in the US market you'll question whether or not this company would survive if outside companies could compete (which is a factor of why the transit system in the US is poor). Lastly, if you're in the inside group (IE a certain ethnicity) you'll be treated better than if you are outside of it.
