Pros

GIC is a world-class sovereign wealth fund with good resources and brand

Cons

What I'm sharing below is my own opinion and what many of us in ICR feel. Not stating facts, just calling out what we all see. Ever since MD H**** V**** came in to lead IT Ops & Service Management, the pattern is damn obvious. So many VP and SVP level hires Global Command Centre, SRE, Data Platforms, Vendor Management, and more, all seem to come from the MD's old companies. Not through fair, open hiring. Just people he worked with before. One by one, the leadership bench got replaced until it started looking like a reunion from his previous jobs. How is this okay? The impact on the ground is real. Long-serving staff who actually know the systems and the business are getting pushed aside or straight up asked to leave. Meanwhile the new leadership circle is becoming very homogeneous, so much for the diverse and inclusive culture GIC and PRIME keep talking about publicly. Morale across the squads is rock bottom. People don't feel like hard work or merit matters anymore. It's about whether you're in the MD's inner circle or not. That's the reality. Then there's the offshore service provider situation. The quality issues are well known. The teams working with them daily face constant communication gaps and cultural misalignment that slow everything down. Yet somehow the decision was made to continue this engagement. Many of us genuinely cannot understand the rationale. Nobody has given us a clear explanation, and when there's no transparency, don't be surprised that people start talking and questioning what's really going on behind the scenes.

Pros

"People-first" culture (though this is rapidly eroding, see Cons)

Cons

Technology Group (TG) and the former Data Strategy Group (DSG) are nothing short of toxic. Under the direction of COO Sam Kim Yong Sang, we are witnessing a cold, calculated "silent layoff" campaign. Long-tenured staff who have given their best years to the firm are being funneled into mass PIPs that are designed for failure, not growth. This isn't about performance. It’s a transparent maneuver to trim headcount and hit aggressive KPI targets without the PR fallout of a formal redundancy. Management is treating human beings like line items on a spreadsheet, ignoring the devastating impact on families and the mental health of loyal employees. The TG leadership has become a puppet for these metrics, destroying the very culture of trust that took decades to build.
