Pros
Great Benefits, potential opportunities to make good money, profit sharing, discounts on products, sales bonuses, unique work environment, long term employees earn a lot of time off. This is a job you really have a lot of pride in, you make a direct impact on a clients home, both financially and aesthetically.
Cons
Male dominated field/workforce with minimal growth for females, less pay for females because of job offerings, little employee appreciation or branch acknowledgment, difficult customers with high expectations, must have extreme attention to detail or you will fall behind, corporate seems to have little understanding of day to day operations, very difficult to learn the vast amount of products (this takes real determination on the employees part to master), Approx 4 months training before FULLY confident selling, unrealistic expectations, overworked, no work life balance, most showrooms do not offer rotating weekends, so you will work a Saturday. Most showrooms also do not offer two days off in a row. Very hard to schedule time off. You will stress about work, you will lose sleep and struggle to recall your day, lost my voice from talking all day, missed lunch breaks, long work days.
