Pros

- Lots of responsibility/autonomy very early on, you will learn a LOT of soft skills very quickly which will open up a lot of doors that may not have been possible without Epic. - Nice campus, individual offices, and fantastic food. - Co-workers are generally awesome. Smart, motivated, and friendly people. Everyone is willing to help. - Sense of purpose in work - end goal is to improve patient care - Truly amazing salary after first annual raise - Really easy to make friends when starting out

Cons

- Generally very overworked. The hours add up quickly especially when traveling. On top of this, having to navigate a complicated system and present functionality to customers with very little experience are extremely daunting tasks - For all the talk of how important Epic's "culture" is, the company culture is generally pretty bad and toxic. Despite all the amazing people that work here, everyone gets sucked into this 'work as much possible' mentality and the cult-y feeling is very strong too - Very limited remote options, most of the time you are expected in office five days a week. I often drive in just to sit and take zoom calls with customers across the country all day. It makes no sense and everyone knows it, but no one in management is willing to stand up to the CEO who is stuck in her own ways and doesn't seem to fully understand why people are unhappy - Speaking of upper management, they live in their own world and disregard employee feedback - Random process changes with very little critical thinking put in behind those decisions - Not very much PTO

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
