Pros

Decent pay for Wisconsin. Nice campus and good food. Working in healthcare is rewarding compared to ad tech and Epic is doing well in the market.

Cons

Employees don't have a voice. The management created a culture where all feedback gets shut down. The pay and stock options are bad compared to other big tech. Mediocre time off. Long commute from Madison. No flexibility to work from home. The tech stack and development processes are outdated and there's a lot of inertia from R&D leadership. Most developers are inexperienced fresh grads who don't know any better.

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
