Pros
Emory is filled with a diverse palate of wonderful people who really do good work for the university and in their lives. Of course there are "bastions of insanity" but there are also very good departments within the division of campus life and outside of it.
Cons
As much as Emory touted their belief in life/work balance, there are several managers who do not believe in that. Even working from home one day a week, or trying to work a compressed work schedule ( in a non busy season) was frowned up. That sort of inflexibility and an unwillingness to meet their needs of their employees is tough to take! While there are always a few positions that won't be able to share in such options, it would be nice if managers tried to fight for their employees needs and found ways to meet them halfway. This would boost morale.
