Pros
Excellent flexibility in work schedules and telecommute options as a whole, but this can vary within departments. Excellent insurance, though you have to pay a lot more to cover a spouse who can be covered by their own employer. Very good 401K match. Generally a stable environment.
Cons
Very limited salary growth over time, with limitations on salary increases even when moving from one position to a higher position. A high degree of bureaucracy within the university.
