Pros

Amazing people work at Edelman - smart, driven, engaged. I had some truly incredible colleagues and great clients, too. When I was able to work on integrated programs that really took advantage of the Edelman model, it was SO FUN to see everyone in action and working well together. The company also provided good flexibility for me when I needed it.

Cons

Edelman leadership is not great - things are stressful and our course was not clear. Lots of favoritism, especially at the senior levels, with people who really didn't do much work but talked a lot being elevated and referenced always, as well as some who were really good at the work but behaved badly and got away with it. There was a significant breakdown in training and talent development - very much a sink-or-swim perspective where you better keep learning based on whatever you know, but if you ask for help or additional training, you're left out to dry (or worse, it's held against you).

Pros

I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
