Pros
- Collaborative versus competitive work environment with a strong culture of knowledge sharing and investment in your personal growth - Open door policy that welcomes feedback and innovation. I've never felt nervous about asking my manager something - Work-Life balance, I feel confident that I can "turn-off" and not be pestered by after hours communication - Openness to hiring from diverse backgrounds (former teachers, social workers, and other career switchers are welcomed) - Team culture (made many lifelong friends here)
Cons
- Departments are siloed and seem to be following different objectives at times, but they are actively working on creating more opportunities for cross-collaboration - Product value is more consultative than direct, and is dependent on active customer buy-in and customer success support for ROI (i.e. SEO is a teamwork activity and not something that can just be "switched on"). This may be unappealing to those coming from CS experiences with technologies that have a more direct value ad. Educational skills are a must for success. - Blurred lines between agency and SaaS business models at times
