Pros

I've been part of this organization for many years and have heard a variety of perspectives about how our culture or leadership has changed. The truth is that our industry, our customers and the technology around us have evolved at an extraordinary pace. To keep up, we must also evolve. What some may view as a shift in culture or poor leadership, in some ways, is the realities facing all organizations. Innovation can't stall. Complacency, even when unintentional, can hold an organization back when they need nothing more than to accelerate. With the rising expectations of both customers and employees, it is critical that companies consistently evaluate how they work and scale. These challenges are not easy and are also often times met with hard decisions. CivicPlus has strong leaders throughout that understand the importance of staying competitive and sustainable for the long term. Making the decisions for the families and customers they support today but also those that will join in the future. I value working for an organization that has consistently focused on driving innovation and creating an environment where talent can grow and thrive. The company emphasizes transparency, balance, and flexibility. Employees are encouraged to maintain a healthy work–life balance, develop new skills, and bring forward creative ideas that help us work smarter. The flexibility to work remotely and take the time you need when life demands it is genuinely supported. People at CivicPlus care—not only about their coworkers but also about the customers and communities we serve every day. That commitment is one of the reasons so many, when given the opportunity, choose to return.

Cons

There are many historical processes and ways of thinking deeply ingrained which makes adopting any new approach extremely hard. As the company works to focus on innovation, automation and overall progress, there is still work to be done to unify teams around these opportunities and reduce negativity that hinders progress or creativity.

Pros

The actual people I was working with directly were wonderful. This company originally had a really great culture, and at the ground level, it still seems to have really great people working there. My department was the least toxic workplace I have ever seen. Unfortunately, that good culture and good values does not seem to be common the higher up you go in the chain of command.

Cons

CP's upper management is currently driving the company straight into the ground. They've been acquiring company after company without bothering to maintain the quality of any of them, including CP's own original products and services. They are working their employees as hard as possible, with as little compensation and support as possible. They want to squeeze the most money out of everything without putting anything back into it. I expect this company to collapse entirely within ten years at the most. The pay is well below industry averages, and people who actually verbalize that get laid off. They did months and months of employee satisfaction surveys that satisfaction statistics of below 20% on the subject of pay and they did absolutely nothing about it. Lay-offs are becoming more and more common and are done without any warning or any consideration for how it will affect the departments who are losing staff. Upper management is beginning to look more and more greedy, short-sighted, and vindictive.
