Pros

Very clean work environment. Contests for employees on a daily basis with decent prizes like Ipads, etc. Generous in giving out reward points as kudos for "jobs well done" that could be redeemed at the Citibank website for almost anything you please.

Cons

Very stressful environment. Offer rate and sales are of utmost importance, the quoted numbers must be met everyday, without averaging monthly. Transfers and upset clients who cannot be offered a product to, counts against your performance. Offers & successful sales also get a lot of scrutiny through compliance guidelines. You are expected to "produce" by being pushy and extremely aggressive. I'm a little puzzled by how they don't require a TSR (Telemarketing Sales Rule - permission to bring up a fee based product in a call) before offering a product to a client. Extremely high turnover rate and very demanding when it comes to sales production accompanied by demotivating incentives.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
