Pros

Great team of equal employees no stranger to seeing potential in any age. We had flexible schedules and I adored amazing clientle. My team in particular worked hard to make everyone feel welcomed no matter their age and ability. Despite being the youngest one there - they were always supporting me and encouraging me as I trained for the ASM position.

Cons

The managers and supervisors do not share the sentiment of equality and are very big on throwing anyone under the bus to look good. The Uppers also implemented a pay-to-win policy where you could wear what ever you wanted - as long as it was from their very expensive new line of clothes every few months. Otherwise it was only black despite being a fashion forward business. And heaven knows they don't pay enough to afford their clothing, especially any long term employees (20+ years) who were making $8 less an hour than new hires. Our entire team left due to the disrespect and lack of action from upper management. Employees who had been there for 20+ years. I learned later this was common place at many of their locations.

Chico's FAS Response

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. We are surprised by your sentiments about managers and supervisors. At Chico's FAS we wholeheartedly practice and support equality, diversity and inclusion, and respect for all associates. While our dress codes do encourage associates to wear or latest merchandise, we provide a significant 65% "Made" discount for them to purchase merchandise from our latest style sets. We also offer a regular 40% discount for Associates to purchase any merchandise of their choice. We encourage individuality and respect our associates' personal sense of style. As a fashion retailer; however, we do encourage Associates to wear our products so customers can get a better idea of how our merchandise looks on real people rather than on mannequins. Notwithstanding, flexibility is embedded in our dress codes. While each of our brands adheres to specific color palettes, associates are free to wear other retailers' merchandise. If you would like to provide additional information please contact us at Glassdoorfeedback@chicos.com.

Pros

Fun at times with conversations amongst employees

Cons

The pettiness The bad mouthing of current employees or past employees, if the manager was talking about them I am sure she was talking about me Manager gave out her phone number to all employees to contact by text or calls, when I had to text her , her reply back was condescending and not to pleasant. I got an apology the next day. She knew she was wrong She got a bad review because she did not present herself in a positve way when helping a customer, she talked about the previous management I had an upcoming date that I needed off and she knew but she scheduled me for that day anyway I was told there was a review about me apologizing to much? That was a lie, I looked at all the reviews none about me but she had a negative one about her I only apologized to my customers if we did not have a product or we did not fit their expectations Yes I did apologize to some employees, I was in training and learning. Im sure it was the fellow coworkers that complained I do have problems with my right foot and at the moment my nice pair of nikes was providing more comfort to my feet, and was told I needed a drs note? But another employee who his younger was wearing very dirty tennis shoes, not a good look if they a noticably dirty Not good training, barely had any
