Pros
I have been working forCapital Group for over 15 years. This organization stays true to its core values driven by doing the right thing for investors and its associates. A large number of investors are ordinary people who invest their life savings either directly on their own or through other mechanisms such as pension funds or 401k like schemas. To be able to keep this in mind in everything we do and do the right thing for that goal for such a long time is unique to Capital. We are truly working to improve people's lives, regardless of the investment time objectives 10, 20, or 30 years from now. That to me is a huge motivating factor. Internally you are given opportunities to lead, influence, and learn. You are listened to, engaged and shown that you are important and your opinion and contribution matter. With long tenures being a norm career changes are not that fast but opportunities are there for those who are interested and Capital offers support for growth and development and even for career changes if one thinks of making the jump to a new area or skill.
Cons
As Capital puts emphasis on group collaboration and doing the right thing issues and changes are approached and addressed in a thoughtful way and in the process that decisionmaking may take more time compared to other orgabnizations. Not a bad thing per se but for those who like to run and run fast this may be something to consider.
