Pros
As a "production control clerk" you may either be working at a CACI site (doing only doc review) in Alexandria, or as a paralegal in Washington DC. If you're a paralegal, the job itself is good. You often receive interesting work and gain exposure at the DOJ. Overall it tends to be a great work environment. However, none of this is due to CACI - it purely depends on the section that you join at the DOJ. Typically there are also no issues with being paid on time.
Cons
Dealing with CACI is a major pain, especially if you are a paralegal onsite at DOJ. Emails and phone calls to manager (who has an office in the building but is rarely there) go unanswered and work trips take many months to be reimbursed. In one case, I waited nine months to be reimbursed for a trip. Management will tell you one thing in a meeting, and tell another person the complete opposite. There's a pervasive understanding that direct manager cannot be trusted to keep his/her word. Dealing with other CACI departments that provide technical support has been difficult, and the message from management has been to "keep any issues in the CACI chain of command", i.e. don't tell your attorneys about the problems affecting your work if it will make CACI look bad. If you are working offsite as a doc reviewer, you are treated as expendable and hold little value to CACI. There is no onboarding process and you're lucky if you are informed about the case you're working on. It's modern day assembly line work. You cannot even take advantage of the education benefits that CACI touts because that requires management approval (from an unresponsive manager). It's an unhappy place to work, with high turnover. If you're a paralegal working downtown and CACI wants you to get rid of you, they will transfer you to Alexandria for doc review. The turnover is no surprise, since CACI treats you like you're not worth investing in anyway. Currently, there are no opportunities for career growth. Overall, CACI hinders your ability to do good work downtown, and otherwise fosters an unhappy, unorganized work environment of disposable workers.
